Nigel Roberts

Born: Invercargill, 1960

Nigel Roberts holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts and Design from EIT and a Master of Fine Arts from Elam School of Fine Arts. Since 2003 he has been teaching at EIT, tutoring in video, print and 3D technology, and co-ordinating the Introduction to Visual Art and Design Level Three program.
 
Nigel worked out of North London Polytechnic as a member of the Kentish Town Printing Co-operative from 1986 until 1995, before returning to New Zealand.
 
Currently he is working in both 3D sculpture and Video Installation. The sculpture consists of a base of welded metal with various over coatings, which references microscopic molecular natural forms, and the video references natural forms and abstract colour fields.
