Ben Pearce

Born: Palmerson North, 1982

Based: Cicada Works, Whakatu, Hawke’s Bay
 
Ben Pearce works with various materials, including found objects, to create his whimsical sculptures.
 
He completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Wanganui Quay School of Fine Arts in 2003 and since then has exhibited widely in New Zealand.
 
Ben’s work is held in private collections throughout the country, as well as in the UK and the US. In 2008 and 2009 Ben was a finalist in the Wallace Art Award, winning the People’s Choice Award for Cavern No.1 in 2009.
