Lisa Walsh

Based: Waverly, South Taranaki

Lisa Walsh is a glass artist. In 2009 she was the recipient of the prestigious Australasian Ranamok Glass Prize for her work Across the Lines. Although glass is a relatively new medium for Lisa, she has an extensive background in sculpture and painting, having a diverse and comprehensive exhibition history. Glass is now her main choice of media.

Lisa describes her work as, “Inspired by the history of our land and people. It is a reflection of my thoughts on how we have evolved as a country. Retelling the stories of our heritage and setting them into a modern environment is what motivates me in my pursuit of glass works.”

Lisa is currently exhibiting both in New Zealand and overseas and has recently been awarded the 2010 Molly Morpeth Canaday 3D Glass Award for her work Welcome Home.
