Based: Hawke’s Bay
Mary Aitken originally honed her skills while at Ilam Art School at the University of Canterbury.
She paints and draws, but is best known locally for her large-scale wire sculptures which she creates from her home studio in rural Hawke’s Bay. A great example is her work, Horse (pictured) which she presented at the 2008 Wildflower Sculpture Exhibition.
