Sandy Densem

Born: Zimbabwe

Based: Hawke's Bay

Sandy studied Fine Art in Cape Town 1976- 1978 majoring in Painting, and has been painting and exhibiting since then.
She taught art and textiles for many years in Zimbabwe, and worked with interior designers and architects to produce soft furnishings, paintings and wall murals for a group of Safari Lodges in Zimbabwe.

Since moving to Hawkes Bay in July 2006, Sandy has been painting and exhibiting across the country.

After seeing the poppy field at Round Pond Garden 2 years ago, Sandy was inspired to produce a range of fabrics, with the vibrant happy colours and shapes of the poppies being the theme.
Each cloth is individually designed and hand painted on 100% cotton, and is machine washable. The range includes table cloths, cushions and table runners.
She also has a small selection of hand painted silk scarves.
